KANGANA, SISTER SUMMONED BY COPS | 22 October, 2020

The Bandra (Bombay) police on 21st October served notice on Kangana Ranaut and her sister, Rangoli Chandel, to appear on October 26 and 27 respectively in the probe against them on charges of creating communal rift. An FIR was registered against the two for allegedly promoting enmity between communities, hurting religious sentiments and sedition.

A Bollywood casting director, Munnawarali Sayyed, had filed a complaint against the two sisters following their tweets and statements defaming Bollywood for almost four months by calling it a hub of nepotism and alleging favoritism. According to Sayyed, Kangana also tweeted very objectionable comments which not only hurt religious sentiments but also feelings of many artistes, and she was trying to divide artistes on communal basis. He said, Kangana, in a tweet, referred to Bombay as Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, which had led to a public spat with Shiv Sena in Maharashtra.
