KARTIK AARYAN: FORCE TO RECKON WITH | 7 December, 2019

The craze for Kartik Aaryan is heartening. For a boy who had no Godfather in the film industry when he entered it around 2010 with Pyaar Ka Punchnama, the 29-year-old has indeed come a long way. The initial of this week’s Pati Patni Aur Woh says it all.

Besides his talent and luck, his choice of films has stood him in good stead. After his maiden film, he was seen in Akaash Vani which bombed at the box-office. Subhash Ghai’s film, Kaanchi, could’ve been his ticket to stardom but, unfortunately, that film sank without a trace. A lessor actor may have sunk into oblivion after two consecutive box-office duds so early on in his career, and also with no real Godfather in the industry, but it was difficult for the trade — and public alike — to forget Kartik’s monologue in his debut film. Luv Ranjan himself made Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 with the actor he had introduced, and that proved a bigger hit than the first one.

His Guest Iin London was a box-office flop but then came Luv Ranjan’s Sonu Ke Titu Ke Sweety, the biggest hit of Kartik Aaryan’s career till then. By this time, Aaryan had proved that he was here to stay.

Earlier this year, the success of Dinesh Vijan’s Luka Chuppi fortified the talented actor’s position even more. And now, the initial of Pati Patni Aur Woh this week is another proof of his stardom.

If this week’s Pati Patni Aur Woh performs at the turnstiles the way it is expected to perform, it can easily outdo the business of SKTKS. In terms of just the opening, PPAW seems to be the actor’s film with the best initial, better than even his last film, Luka Chuppi.

Indeed, the boy from Gwalior, who struggled to make a place for himself in people’s hearts, has come a long way. With PPAW, he will deliver his third hit in a row. The lad needs to be lauded for showing the way to so many strugglers who dream of making it big in this mad, bad world of films.
