Television actor and model Sameer Sharma was found dead on the night of 5th August at his Malad residence in Bombay. He had hung himself from the ceiling of his rented apartment. He was 44 and had acted in television serials like Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke, Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, Left Right Left and Dil Kya Chahta Hai. He had also acted in films like Hasee Toh Phasee and Ittefaq.
Looking at the condition of his body, the police suspect that the actor committed suicide two days back. No suicide note was found. An accidental death report was filed and his body was sent for autopsy. Sameer shared his last social media post, a picture of the sea, on Instagram on July 29. He had also written posts about mental health after the death of Sushant Singh Rajput.
