BOLLYWOOD BIGGIES COME FORWARD TO HELP FILM INDUSTRY DAILY WAGE WORKERS | 2 May, 2020

Bollywood is rallying behind its daily-wage cine workers who are the worst-hit during the lockdown. The Producers Guild Of India recently handed over a cheque of Rs. 1.5 crore to the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE). Ajay Devgan and filmmaker Rohit Shetty have contributed Rs. 51 lakh each. Contributions have also been made by Varun Dhawan, Aanand L. Rai, Boney Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor and others.

A total of 1,600 members of the FWICE received Rs. 3,000 each in their respective bank accounts on 27th April. A thousand more members received the monies on 28th April. In late March, a total of Rs. 7.5 crore were transferred to the bank accounts of 25,000 daily-wage workers at the rate of Rs. 3,000 per person. A total of Rs. 10.5 crore will be disbursed shortly.
