‘DHURANDHAR’ CERTIFIED FOR ADULTS | 2 December, 2025

Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar has been certified for adults only. The certification process was completed today (2nd December) and the certificate handed over. The film, starring Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal and Akshaye Khanna, has a final running time of 214 minutes making it the longest film in the past 17 years. Jodhaa Akbar (2008) also had a run time of 214 minutes. Dhurandhar is scheduled for release on 5th December.

Dhurandhar will be the first adult-rated film in Ranveer Singh’s career so far. Some violent scenes have been toned down and some foul language has been muted, besides other changes effected by the Central Board of Film Certification. There was an uncertainty in the trade about the film’s certification because Major Mohit Sharma’s family had gone to the Delhi high court with a plea to stall the film’s release as it allegedly spoke about him without seeking the family’s permission. Major Sharma was killed in a terrorist encounter in 2009 at the age of 31 and was posthumously honoured with the Ashoka Chakra for his bravery.
