Marathi television actress Ketaki Chitale and a man, Suraj Shinde, were arrested under the Scheduled Caste And Scheduled Tribe (Prevention Of Atrocities) Act and relevant sections of the IPC after a law student lodged a complaint on 3rd March, stating that they had hurt the religious sentiments of Buddhists by posting derogatory comments on social media.
Swapnil Jagtap (26) said that the accused had posted derogatory comments on Babasaheb Ambedkar and Mahatma Jyotiba Phule. The case will be looked into by the Vashi (New Bombay) division assistant police commissioner.
