‘AKAAL’ RELEASE ADVERSELY AFFECTED IN LUDHIANA | 10 April, 2025

Miscreants did not permit Gippy Grewal’s Punjabi film, Akaal, to release today (10th April) in some multiplexes of Ludhiana as they objected to the actor-director portraying the holy character of Akaal in the film. According to them, Gippy is known to smoke in real life and hence he could not play the holy character he does in the film. They have not taken too kindly to his costumes in the film.

Cinepolis, Wave and PVR Silver Arc did not screen the film in the morning show today. The people objecting to the release removed all the publicity material of the controversial film from the premises of the three multiplexes and warned the owners that they would cause damage to the cinema properties if they dared to go against their diktat and screen Akaal.
