The Karnataka government has notified capping of cinema admission rates at Rs. 200. This includes GST. The rule will come into force from the date of its publication in the official gazette.
Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah had hinted at such a cap on admission rates earlier this year during his Budget speech.
After this rule comes into force, the maximum admission rate in the state will be Rs. 200, whether in a multiplex or a single-screen cinema.
