‘EK RADHA EK MEERA’ (MARATHI) REVIEW | 7 February, 2025

Ahaley Movie Magic’s Ek Radha Ek Meera (Marathi; UA) is the story of Krishna (Gashmeer Mahajani) and Sanvi (Surabhi Bhosale), two childhood friends. While Krishna loves Sanvi, he is unable to express it to her because his father works as a driver for her father, Aniruddha (Mahesh Manjrekar). How the two come together is the crux of the drama. Before the two unite in matrimony, Sanvi’s marriage is first fixed with Shail (Aaroh Velankar) and then with Vikrant, but Sanvi rejects both the guys for different reasons. Meanwhile, Krishna falls in love with Manasvi (Mrunmayee Deshpande) after she (Manasvi) has fallen in love with him (Krishna). Why the two – Krishna and Manasvi — don’t get married is revealed towards the end.

Kiran Yadnopavit has written a story which appears weird because it all the time talks of break-ups. Yadnopavit’s screenplay is average; it never really rises above the ordinary. Although it is a love story, romance is minimal. Emotions are conspicuous by their absence. Kiran Yadnopavit’s dialogues are nothing to shout about.

Gashmeer Mahajani has done a fair job as Krishna. Mrunmayee Deshpande is good as Manasvi. Surabhi Bhosale is alright in the role of Sanvi. Mahesh Manjrekar lends decent support as Sanvi’s father. Medha Manjrekar has her moments as Manasvi’s mother. Sandeep Pathak is so-so as Einstein. Aaroh Velankar is okay in a brief role as Shail.

Mahesh Vaman Manjrekar’s direction is ordinary, limited as it is by the weak and uninspiring script. Vishal Mishra’s music is average. Lyrics are functional. Umesh Jadhav, Sandeep Chavan and Jani Basha’s song picturisations are fair. Background music (by Vishal Mishra) is alright. Ajit Reddy’s camerawork is nice. Abhishek Vijaykar’s production designing is fair. Sarvesh Parab’s editing leaves something to be desired.

On the whole, Ek Radha Ek Meera is a poor fare and will flop at the box-office.

Released on 7-2-’25 at Jai Hind Mukta A2 (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru Panorama Studios. Publicity & opening: dull.
