Marathi and Hindi film and television actress Priya Marathe breathed her last today (31st August) at her Mira Road residence in Bombay. She was 38 and had been battling cancer since a year.
Priya Marathe had become a household name after her character, Varsha, in TV serial Pavitra Rishta became popular. She had also acted in Kasamh Se and Bade Acche Lagte Hain, both television serials produced under the Balaji Telefilms banner. Among her other TV serials are Char Divas Sasuche, Tu Tithe Mi, Swarajyarakshak Sambhaji, Ya Sukhano Ya, Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, Tuzech Mi Geet Gaat Aahe, Bhaage Re Mann, Jayostute, and Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap. She was also seen in the first season of Comedy Circus as she was a fine stand-up comedienne.
