‘INSTITUTE OF PAVTOLLOGY’ (MARATHI) REVIEW | 11 April, 2025

Six Purple Hearts, Fatmar Films, Blink Studio and Abhishikta Infotainments Pvt. Ltd.’s Institute Of Pavtollogy (Marathi; UA) is the story of an institute for punks. Sudhanva Divekar (Girish Kulkarni) opens an institute for hoodlums. The institute trains them to capitalise on their negative points. Prof. Thatte (Dilip Prabhavalkar) objects to the institute. Vice chancellor Dr. Kalantre (Sayaji Shinde) uses Divekar’s students for personal benefit. Does the system work?

Santosh Shintre’s story is not at all appealing. Prasad Namjoshi’s screenplay fails to engage the viewers. There’s hardly any point in the drama to arrest the audience’s attention. Consequently, the drama unfolds on the screen without in any way involving the viewers. Even Prasad Namjoshi’s dialogues are ordinary.

Girish Kulkarni does a fine job as Sudhanva Divekar. Sayaji Shinde plays vice chancellor Dr. Kalantre effectively. Dilip Prabhavalkar shines as Prof. Thatte. Shashank Shende has his moments. Deepti Devi is alright. Sandeep Pathak is okay. Chhaya Kadam has her moments. Parth Bhalerao is reasonably nice. Devendra Gaikwad makes his presence felt. Apurva Chaudhari lends fair support. Pragalbha Kolekar is so-so. Krutika Deo, Harish Thorat, Suyash Zunjurke, Vijay Nikam, Shivraj Walvekar and the others provide average support.

Prasad Namjoshi and Sagar Vanjari’s direction is not very inspiring. Vijay Narayan Gavande’s music, and Prasad Namjoshi’s lyrics are average. Song picturisations (by Akshay Gupta, Siddhi Potdar and Rahul Mane) pass muster. Background music is functional. Camerawork (by Girish Jambhalikar) is fair. Nilesh Gorakshe’s art direction is okay. Sagar Vanjari’s editing ought to have been sharper.

On the whole, Institute Of Pavtollogy is a flop show.

Released on 11-4-’25 at Gem (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay by Cinepolis India thru August Entertainment. Publicity & opening: poor.
