‘LOVE KARU YAAA SHAADI’ REVIEW | 30 May, 2025

Happyzon Telefilms and Auro Films Productions’ Love Karu Yaaa Shaadi is the story of a young man who is not serious about marriage but wants to have fun with his girlfriend all the same. Rahul (Akarsh Alagh), an MBA from Kanpur, likes Priya (Mairina Singh), a girl from Lucknow, who works in an MNC. However, he is not sure whether he needs to marry her or just have fun with her. While his mother (Garima Agarwal) is keen that Rahul settle down in matrimony, Rahul’s friend, Raj (Misha Kapoor), convinces him that marriage is avoidable and that he should simply enjoy life. There comes a stage when both, Rahul and Priya, express their love to each other.  But while Priya asks for commitment and marriage, Rahul is not ready for it. The two separate but not for long. What happens finally? Does Rahul’s philosophy win over Priya’s principles or is it the other way around?

Jaiprakash Shaw has written a routine story which has been seen in umpteen earlier films. The screenplay, penned by Jaiprakash Shaw and Sandeep Nath, is replete with predictable scenes and what, therefore, emerges is a hackneyed drama without an iota of novelty. Consequently, the proceedings unfold on the screen without involving the audience. Raj’s behaviour and stance, when he comes from the USA, appear weird. All in all, the drama fails to engage the viewers or involve them in any way. Climax is not appealing. The duo’s dialogues are average.

Akarsh Alagh is ordinary as Rahul. Mairina Singh hardly impresses in the role of Priya. Misha Kapoor does an average job as Raj. Govind Namdeo leaves a mark as Rahul’s father, Prem Prakash. Garima Agarwal is alright as Rahul’s mother. Ali Asgar is okay as Aankde mama. Priti Singhania acts routinely as Kajal. Supyarde Singh passes muster as Priya’s friend, Roma. Mushtaq Khan is so-so as advocate Gyanchandra Mishra. Milind Gunaji is average as Priya’s father, Col. Ajit Singh. Sonika Gill is passable as Sonika Singh. Vijay Patkar is unimpressive as Pyarelal. Manoj Bakshi leaves a fair mark as Mausa. Farida Dadi is adequate as Dadi. Anita Sehgal (as Anita Goel), Happy Sharma (as Pintu), and the rest provide dull support.

Jaiprakash Shaw’s direction is not quite up to the mark. Music (SLF, Sandeep Nath, Surendra Sarthi, Soumya Burman) is okay; the Uthale meri jaan petha Agre ka song is fair. Lyrics (by Sandeep Nath, Shabbir Ahmed, Surendra Sarthi) are ordinary. Shabina Khan and Ricky Gupta’s choreography is nothing to dance about. Honey Satamkar’s background music is below the mark. Camerawork (by Ajay Naikar and Rishikesh Kandalgaonkar) is okay. Mahendra Verma’s action and stunt scenes lack thrill. Amit Jaiswal’s art direction is below the mark. Sanjay Sankla’s editing is alright but needed to be sharper.

On the whole, Love Karu Yaaa Shaadi is a poor fare.

Released on 30-5-’25 at Metro Inox (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru Prakash Films. Publicity & opening: poor. …….Also released all over. Opening was dull everywhere.
