Saahil Motion Arts, Keemaya Productions and Swaroop Studios’ Mukkam Post Devach Ghar (Marathi) is the story of a girl, Jija (Myra Vaikul), who writes letters to her dead father on being told by her mother that he has gone to God. At first, she doesn’t get any reply, for obvious reasons. But when she does get a reply, she makes it a regular practice to write letters to her father. In each letter, she writes about a problem she or others around her are facing. Fortunately for her, every letter now gets her a reply in the form of solutions to the problems mentioned in her letters. Who is the one replying to her letters or finding solutions to her problems?
Sanket Mane has penned a story which lacks novelty. The screenplay, written by Sanket Mane and Sumit Giri, may have fun and emotional moments but it still does not qualify to be called a wholesome entertaining drama because it doesn’t offer anything fresh. Everything starts looking childish after a point of time. The drama also gets repetitive. Sumit Giri’s dialogues are alright.
Myra Vaikul does very well in the role of Jija. Spruha Parab is good as Jija’s friend, Shubhi. Kalyani Mulye is adequate in the role of Jija’s mother, Kalpana. Savita Malpekar is okay as Jija’s grandmother. Mangesh Desai is fair as the postman. Sachin Narkar is so-so as Bapya. Usha Nadkarni makes an average mark as sarpanch Aaji. Madhavi Juvekar is alright as Shubhi’s mother. Prathamesh Parab is so-so in a brief role as Shubhi’s maternal uncle, Ganya. Resham Shrivardhan (as Sangi) and Kamlesh Sawant (as the police inspector) provide ordinary support. Others are passable.
Sanket Mane’s direction is alright. Chinar-Mahesh’s music is average while Mangesh Kangane’s lyrics are ordinary. Aditya Bedekar’s background music is fairly impactful. Camerawork (by Rohan Madkaikar) is okay. Satish Chipkar’s art direction is functional. Editing (by Dinesh Pujari and Nainesh Dingankar) should’ve been sharper.
On the whole, Mukkam Post Devach Ghar will not be able to win the box-office race because of dull promotion and lack of face value.
