A civil court in Pune has issued summons to actors Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi and director Subhash Kapoor in connection with their upcoming film, Jolly LLB 3. They have been alleged to have disrespected the judiciary in the film. The three have been asked to appear in person on October 28. The film is due for release on September 19.
The summons were issued following a petition filed by lawyer Wajed Rahim Khan. According to Khan, the film mocks the legal system and disrespects court proceedings. In the plea, he has objected to the portrayal of the legal profession in a negative light and raised concerns over a scene where a judge is referred to as “mama”, a slang term for an idiot.
