‘SAMSARA’ (MARATHI) REVIEW | 20 June, 2025

Sanchay Production’s Samsara (Marathi; UA) is a thriller. Several millennia after an Asura’s immortal head swore vengeance for its beheading over stolen Amrut, a new conflict brews. In 1995, theology professor Bhanvi is haunted by visions connected to a powerful chain. Three decades later, in 2025, Vidhi and her son are kidnapped for the same artefact. When Vidhi is near death, a mysterious woman intervenes and saves her child. Is this the start of a renewed ancient war?

Sagar Ladhe, Sameer Manekar and Vishwesh Vaidya have written a story with very limited appeal. Sameer Manekar and Sagar Ladhe’s screenplay keeps the audience engaged partially only. Besides, the drama is not consistently entertaining. While some portions are quite enjoyable, there are others which bore the viewers. Climax is not fulfilling enough. Dialogues (by Nihar Bhave and Sameer Manekar) are okay.

Sayali Sanjeev does fairly well. Rishi Saxena is okay. Pushkar Shrotri acts ably. Dr. Girish Oak is quite nice. Priyadarshini Indalkar is adequate. Tanishka Vishe does an ordinary job. Nandita Patkar is passable. Sakshee Gandhi is okay. Kailash Waghmare lends fair support. Yashraj Dimble and the others do as desired.

Sagar Ladhe’s direction is below the mark. Vishwesh Vaidya’s music is nothing to dance about. Lyrics (Vikram Edke and Rahul) are commonplace. Background music ought to have been better. Akshay Rane’s camerawork is so-so. Prashant Naik’s action and stunt scenes don’t offer much thrill. Sachin Patil’s art direction is ordinary. Rohit Makwana’s editing is loose.

On the whole, Samsara will go largely unnoticed.

Released on 20-6-’25 at Glamour (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru August Entertainment. Publicity & opening: weak.
