‘SO LONG VALLEY’ REVIEW | 25 July, 2025

Sourya Studios’ So Long Valley (UA) is a crime thriller. It is set against the backdrop of Manali. A girl, Riya (Akanksha Puri), goes missing en route from Shimla. Her sister, Moushmi (Alisha Parveen), rushes to complain to the police. As investigations start and go on, the plot thickens. A taxi driver, Kuldeep (Vikram Kochar), becomes the prime suspect. But the mystery is not going to be solved so easily.

Man Singh’s story is very routine and does not offer thrills or chills of the kind which could get the viewers excited. Man Singh’s screenplay, with additional screenplay by Pankaj Uniyal, is not half as exciting as it should have been. The nail-biting thrill of a murder mystery is lacking. Man Singh and Pankaj Uniyal’s dialogues are ordinary.

Tridha Choudhary does a fair job as police inspector Suman Negi. Akanksha Puri is quite good as Riya who goes missing. Vikram Kochar makes a mark as taxi driver Kuldeep. Alisha Parveen is alright in the role of Riya’s younger sister, Moushmi. Soniya Sharma is okay as Riya’s friend, Noori. Man Singh lends average support as police inspector Dev.

Man Singh’s direction is ordinary. L.K. Laxmikant’s music and background music are functional. Rahul Kale’s lyrics pass muster. Shrikant Pattnaik’s cinematography is so-so. Vihan Singh’s art direction is just about passable. Afzal Shaikh’s editing leaves a lot to be desired.

On the whole, So Long Valley will face rejection at the turnstiles.

Released on 25-7-’25 at Gem (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru August Entertainment. Publicity & opening: poor. …….Also released all over. Opening was dull everywhere.
