TELUGU FILM INDUSTRY DOWNS SHUTTERS | 4 August, 2025

The Telugu film industry downed shutters from today (4th August) as the Telugu Film Employees Federation announced a strike. The Federation has been pressing for wage revisions which have been pending for three years now. It represents 24 categories of workers.

The Federation has been demanding a 30% hike in the remuneration of daily wage workers. It also wants the wages to be actually paid on a daily basis. The TFEF announced a strike yesterday (3rd August) as the Telugu Film Producers Council and the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce failed to arrive at a settlement with the TFEF despite multiple rounds of discussion.
