‘THUGS OF GOA’ REVIEW | 30 May, 2025

Sai Patil Film Factory’s Thugs Of Goa (A) is the story of a group of four scamsters.

Amar Agnihotri (Suryansh Tripathi) is a notorious scamster. He and his three partners — Saloni (Gayatri Bansode), Neha (Ruchika Singh) and Vicky (Manveer Singh) — make a living by conning unsuspecting victims. Their carefree life takes a turn when Crime Branch officer Vijay (Sagar Pabole) recruits Neha to infiltrate the inner circle of Rakesh (Harshit Upadhyay), the son of a corrupt minister. Neha’s job is to steal damning documents in Rakesh’s possession, which are linked to the menace of black money. Amar knows that Neha’s task is perilous. While Amar tries to protect his team, Vijay’s sole intention is to serve justice at any cost.

Sai Patil’s story and screenplay are very ordinary and lack thrill or excitement. The drama, therefore, becomes routine and boring. Dialogues are very average.

Suryansh Tripathi delivers an ordinary performance as Amar Agnihotri. Ruchika Singh is so-so as Neha. Gayatri Bansode is average in the role of Saloni. Manveer Singh is okay as Vicky. Harshit Upadhyay lends routine support as Rakesh. Sagar Pabole is not too impressive as Crime Branch officer Vijay. Vicky Mote (as Jigar), Rajdev Jamdade (as Jatin), Yogesh Kumawat (as Pradeep) and Navnath Shrimandilkar (as Raghav) provide dull support. Others barely pass muster.

Sai Patil’s direction is weak. The narration fails to hold the audience’s attention. Ravi’s music is functional. Pravin Yadav’s cinematography is ordinary. Action and stunt scenes lack thrill. Editing leaves a lot to be desired.

On the whole, Thugs Of Goa is a poor fare.

Released on 30-5-’25 at Glamour (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru Filmastra Studios. Publicity & opening: poor. …….Also released all over. Opening was weak everywhere.
