Producer Vinod Bachchan recently met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla in the Indian Parliament. He discussed various aspects of the film industry with Birla. In particular, he requested the Speaker to create a more accessible environment for filmmakers at government locations and to encourage the production of family-oriented films which can be safely shown on global platforms.
Bachchan also asked the Speaker to ensure that a common GST rate is levied for production companies irrespective of whether they shoot their films in the state in which they have a registered office or in any other state.
