The Mathura district election officer served a notice on actress and sitting BJP MP Hema Malini on 3rd April for allegedly violating the model code of conduct by holding a public rally at a government school in Ajhai Khurd village of Chaumuhan town area. The district magistrate said that the meeting was clearly an election-related programme for which the organisers did not seek permission to hold it in a school. He added that legal action would be initiated against the star-MP and the organisers if they failed to respond to the notice within 24 hours.
It is alleged that there were obscene dances by performers at the programme, for the entertainment of the crowds. The school principal said, she had to close the school as the music was too loud and the dances were vulgar.
