‘HOMEBOUND’ TO BE INDIA’S OFFICIAL OSCAR ENTRY | 19 September, 2025

Karan Johar’s Homebound, directed by Neeraj Ghaywan, has been selected by the Film Federation of India, as the country’s official entry for the Oscars 2025. Homebound stars Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa and Janhvi Kapoor. It is slated for release in India next week.

Homebound was in competition with 23 other films. Of the 24 films available for selection of the FFI committee, 10 were Hindi films. Six films were Marathi, five were Telugu, one each was a Kannada and Manipuri film and one was a silent film. Among the films in contention were Shoojit Sircar’s I Want To Talk, Anupam Kher’s Tanvi The Great, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s The Bengal Files, Sukumar’s Pushpa: The Rule Part 2 (Telugu), Dharma Productions’ Kesari Chapter 2, Excel Entertainment’s Superboys Of Malegaon, Anil Sharma’s Vanvaas, and the recently-released Jugnuma.
