‘TRON: ARES’ (DUBBED) REVIEW | 10 October, 2025

Walt Disney Pictures and Sean Bailey Productions’ Tron: Ares (dubbed from the Hollywood film of the same name; UA) is a ride where the virtual AI-led world meets the real world. Ares (Jared Leto), a super-intelligent program created by Julian Dillinger (Evan Peters), enters reality. And that’s when the battle between man and AI begins. Eve Kim (Greta Lee) is the CEO of ENCOM. She is in search of Kevin Flynn’s (Jeff Bridges) Permanence Code. Kevin Flynn, the former CEO of ENCOM, had previously sacrificed himself in the Grid.

David Digilio and Jesse Wigutow have written a very futuristic story where reality and the virtual world meet. Although the story is interesting, Jesse Wigutow’s screenplay lacks the emotional strength needed for such a story. It is because of lack of emotional depth that the drama fails to touch the heart in spite of being fairly engaging.

Jared Leto does a very fine job as Ares. Greta Lee is natural to the core in the role of Eve Kim. Evan Peters lends able support as Julian Dillinger. Jodie Turner-Smith makes a fine impact as Athena, a second-in-command program to Ares. Hasan Minhaj is endearing as Ajay Singh, Eve’s business partner and chief technology officer of ENCOM. Arturo Castro is alright as Eve’s friend, Seth Flores. Gillian Anderson leaves a mark as Julian’s mother, Elisabeth Dillinger. Jeff Bridges makes his presence felt as Kevin Flynn. Cameron Monaghan is okay as Caius, a combat program and member of Ares’ elite special forces unit. Others lend fair support.

Joachim Rønning’s direction is quite good. Nine Inch Nails’ background music is fairly impactful. Jeff Cronenweth’s cinematography is lovely. Darren Gilford’s production designing, and Patrick Banister’s art direction are of a good standard. Tyler Nelson’s editing is sharp. Dubbing is proper.

On the whole, Tron: Ares is an ordinary fare because it doesn’t quite touch the heart. As such, it will remain dull at the turnstiles.

Released on 10-10-’25 at Jai Hind Mukta A2 (3D; in daily 2 shows) and other cinemas of Bombay by JioStar India Pvt. Ltd. Publicity & opening: dull. …….Also released all over. Opening was below the mark almost everywhere.
