LATEST POSITION | 4 October, 2025 ‘KANTARA A LEGEND: CHAPTER 2’ (DUBBED) OPENS WELL, REPORTS EXCELLENT; ‘SUNNY…’ NOT SO BRIGHT

KANTARA A LEGEND: CHAPTER 2 (dubbed) opened to good houses on Thursday (October 2, Dassera holiday) and although there was a drop of almost 40% on the second day (Friday), collections today (Saturday) hold the promise that the film is destined to turn out to be a big hit. The film (dubbed version) netted Rs. 17 crore on the first day, and Rs. 10.50 crore on the second day.

SUNNY SANSKARI KI TULSI KUMARI opened to fair houses (Rs. 9.50 crore net collections) on Thursday, thanks to the Dassera holiday. Collections dropped more than 40% on Friday which closed at Rs. 5.50 crore.

Homebound won more critical acclaim than box-office rewards in the first week. It netted Rs. 2 crore in the first weekend, and another Rs. 1 crore during the weekdays. Therefore, the first week closed at Rs. 3 crore.

Tara & Akash could not do anything worthwhile in the first week.

Tu Meri Poori Kahani fared miserably in the first week.

Yeh Dosti Crazy Hai performed poorly in 1st week.

Preventer flopped in 1st week.

They Call Him OG (dubbed) could not do much in the first week. After collecting Rs. 0.22 crore on Thursday (September 25), it netted another Rs. 1.30 crore in the first week (from Friday, September 26 to Thursday, October 2). Grand total for 1st week (8 days): Rs. 1.52 crore.

Bad Girl (dubbed) fared very badly in 1st week.

Shin Chan: The Spicy Kasukabe Dancers In India (animation; all dubbed and the original Japanese versions) did quite well in the first week. The Hindi dubbed version fared the best while collections of the original Japanese version were the poorest. It collected Rs. 3.25 crore in the first weekend, and another Rs. 1.75 crore during the weekdays. Therefore, the first week closed at Rs. 5 crore.

Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc (animation; Hindi dubbed and the original Japanese versions) did fair business in the first week. The Japanese version proved to be stronger than the dubbed Hindi version. After netting Rs. 0.21 crore on Thursday (September 25), it collected around Rs. 4 crore in the 1st week (Friday, September 26 to Thursday, October 2). Hence it collected Rs. 4.21 crore in the first 8-day week.

Guest From The Future (dubbed) bombed in the first week.

Jolly LL.B 3 fell 60% in the second week but joined the Rs. 100-crore club, nevertheless. The second weekend started with a take of Rs. 4 crore on Friday. Collections increased to Rs. 7.25 crore on Saturday. The Sunday total (Rs. 6.50 crore) was lower than Saturday so that the second weekend closed at Rs. 17.75 crore. Collections for the weekdays were: Monday – Rs. 2.50 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 3.25 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 3.50 crore, Thursday – Rs. 2 crore. Hence the total for the weekdays was Rs. 11.25 crore. Therefore, the second week closed at Rs. 29 crore. Grand total for 2 weeks: Rs. 100.50 crore.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle (animation, Hindi dubbed, English dubbed and the original Japanese versions) did fair business in the third week. It added Rs. 5 crore to its kitty in 3rd week. Grand total for 3 weeks: Rs. 72 crore.

The Conjuring: Last Rites (dubbed and the original English versions) is in its last lap. It added Rs. 0.51 crore to its kitty in the fourth week, taking its grand total for 4 weeks to Rs. 82.06 crore.

Chhabi (Marathi) could not attract the public to the cinemas all over Maharashtra in the first week.

Dashavatar (Marathi) continued its victory march in Maharashtra in 3rd week also.
