HC ASKS GOVT. TO FILE REPLY IN DISHA SALIAN CASE | 1 May, 2025

The Bombay high court on April 30 granted the Maharashtra state government time till June 15 to file an affidavit in response to a petition filed by Satish Salian, father of late celebrity manager Disha Salian. Satish had approached the court last month seeking registration of an FIR against Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray and the transfer of the investigation in the Disha Salian death case to the CBI.

According to Satish Salian’s plea, Disha was “brutally raped, murdered and subjected to a politically orchestrated cover-up”.

Disha was looking after the business affairs of actor Sushant Singh Rajput at the time of her death. She died on June 8, 2020, after falling from the 14th floor of a residential building at Malad in Bombay. The Bombay police had initially registered an accidental death report in the case. Satish has alleged that the “Mumbai police hastily closed the death as a case of suicide or accidental death without taking into account forensic evidence, circumstantial proof and eye witness testimonies”.
