The Rajasthan high court on September 10 stayed the investigation into an FIR filed by a Hyundai car owner against Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, who are the brand ambassadors of the company, over unresolved issues related to his vehicle.
Kirti Singh from Bharatpur purchased a Hyundai Alcazar in 2022. He reported persistent technical malfunctions in the car. He lodged an FIR against Hyundai’s managing director, COO, and the two actors last month after his complaint remained unresolved.
The court’s decision to stay the investigation was based on the argument that no specific wrongdoing was attributed to the two actors in the FIR, aside from their roles as brand ambassadors. Deepika’s advocate, Madhav Mitra, told the court that the complainant should pursue the matter in a consumer court rather than implicating the actors in the FIR.
