‘VIJEYTA’ REVIEW | 19 September, 2025

RKG Movies’ Vijeyta (UA) is a rags-to-riches story.

Based on a true story, the film follows the life of Dr. Rajesh K. Agarwal who started out in his teens as a labourer in Calcutta and ultimately rose to become a billionaire and a noted philanthropist. The story captures his struggles, business rivalries, personal tragedies etc.

Sandeep Nath’s story, by its very nature, is inspirational, but his screenplay is written in a style which has not been able to make the drama half as inspiring as it should’ve been. The drama, therefore, fails to appeal to the audience. His dialogues lack fire.

Ravi Bhatia fails to impress. Bharati Awasthi is ordinary. Gyan Prakash performs routinely. Goodan Kumar passes muster. Diksha Thakur does an average job. Preety Aggarwal is dull. Priyanka Singh lends weak support. Nirav Patel and Sandeep Nath just about fit the bill. Others barely pass muster.

Rajiv S. Ruia’s direction is pathetic. Sandeep Nath and B. Show’s music is weak. Sandeep Nath’s lyrics are okay. Urvi Dhruv’s choreography hardly deserves separate mention. Amit Rathore’s background music is dull. Camerawork (Eugene D’Souza) is not up to the mark. Mehmood Akbar Bakshi’s action and stunt scenes are functional and devoid of thrill. Zahid Hussain’s art direction is so-so. Komal Verma’s editing is loose.

On the whole, Vijeyta will lose the box-office race as it is a dull fare.

Released on 19-9-’25 at Glamour (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru First Film Studios LLP. Publicity & opening: poor. …….Also released all over. Opening was dull everywhere.
