Yesteryear actress Nazima breathed her last on 10th August in Bombay. She was 77. She is survived by two sons.
Nazima played the quintessential sister and friend of the heroine/hero in a number of films and was, at one time, the favourite sister in films. With her warm screen presence, expressive eyes and natural performances, Nazima made many of her characters come to life in films of the 1960s and 1970s. Among the many films she was seen in are Arzoo (1965), Nishan (1965), Aaye Din Bahaar Ke (1966), Aurat (1967), Raja Aur Runk (1968), Doli (1969), Anjaana (1969), Abhinetri (1970), Be-Imaan (1972), Anuraag (1972), Manchali (1973), and Prem Nagar (1974).
She started her career as a child artiste, baby Chand, in Do Bigha Zamin (1953). Among her many other films as child artiste are Biraj Bahu (1954), Devdas (1955), and Ab Dilli Door Nahin (1957).
