Jimmy Talati of well-known film advertising agency Farnaz Advertising passed away this morning (29th April) due to age-related problems. He had not been keeping good health since quite some time. He was 80 and is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter. His son, Homi, has been looking after Farnaz since many years, earlier with his dad, and in recent times, almost completely by himself. From the 1960s right up to the present times, Farnaz Advertising has been one of the leading advertising agencies of Bollywood, for promotion of films in newspapers. Even after corporatisation, when newer names came in, Farnaz managed to stand its ground and even today has most of the producers as its clients for paper publicity.
Jimmy was a courteous and amiable person who worked with most of the top producers. Like a typical Parsi, ‘sorry’ and ‘thank you, beta‘ were words that would escape his mouth very easily.
