Actor Harshvardhan Rane has decided to henceforth bear the cost of his personal staff himself rather than following the general practice of stars making the producer pay for the same when shooting schedules are on. The actor, whose Deewaniyat is scheduled for an early release, took this decision after actor-producer Aamir Khan vociferously decried the practice of stars making the producer pay for their driver, spot boy, chef, trainer, etc. on the Game Changers With Komal Nahta show hosted by Komal Nahta. In a recent episode of the show, Aamir said that it was “a shame” that actors, who earned in crores, often passed the burden of their personal expenses on to the producer, which ultimately resulted in the cost of production of films increasing. Aamir said, he had never done so in his entire career. Aamir Khan also revealed that he bore the cost of travel and stay of his family members if and when he took them for his outdoor shootings.
Harshvardhan took inspiration from Aamir’s words and pledged to henceforth keep his producers insulated from his personal expenses which did not help his films directly. In an Instagram story, Harshvardhan Rane wrote, “Khuddaar hai, sir. I hereby pledge to not let my producers pay for my entourage costs.” The actor’s comment won him praises from his fans and followers on social media.
