Telugu film director and South flms’ actor Surya Kiran passed away in Madras on 11th March due to jaundice. He was 48.
The filmmaker was undergoing treatment at GEM Hospital. He had started his career as a child actor. His latest directorial venture, Arasi, is due for an early release.
Surya Kiran made his debut as director in 2003 with the successful Sathyam. He had also directed Dhana 51, Brahmastram, Raju Bhai and Chapter 6. He had acted in almost 200 Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films as a child artiste, Master Suresh. He played a child actor in the first 3D Malayalam film, My Dear Kuttichathan, which was a blockbuster. His debut as a child artiste was in Malayalam film Snehikkan Oru Pennu (1978). Among the other South films in which he acted are Geetanjali and Padikkathavan. His sister, Sujitha, is a noted South Indian actress. Surya Kiran was married to actress Kaveri Kalyani but the two later separated.
