PUSHPA: THE RULE PART 2 ignited a fire which spread to every nook and corner of the country… and abroad too! The PUSHPA: THE RISE PART 1 sequel opened on Thursday (December 5) and in spite of an odd-day release, that too, without a holiday, the film shattered the record for the biggest opening, grossing Rs. 280 crore worldwide. The Hindi dubbed version netted Rs. 65 crore on the first day, surpassing the record-holder, JAWAN, which had netted Rs. 63 crore on its opening day. Points to note: while JAWAN had a saturated all-India release, PUSHPA 2 had a very token release in the Southern states as it was made in Telugu and dubbed in the South languages, besides Hindi. Secondly, since the PUSHPA sequel has a running time of 3 hours and 20 minutes, its per-day shows in single-screen cinemas as well as in multiplexes were less than the per-day shows of JAWAN which had a more ‘cinema-friendly’ length. Going by the initial and the public reports, PUSHPA: THE RULE PART 2 (Hindi dubbed) is poised to join the ranks of the biggest Hindi blockbusters like STREE 2, JAWAN, GADAR 2 and PATHAAN. In fact, it just might turn out to be the biggest Hindi blockbuster ever.
