Tamil film actor Srikanth was arrested on June 23 by the Madras city police in connection with a cocaine smuggling racket. The arrest follows the detention of T. Prasad, an AIADMK IT wing functionary suspected of having supplied the drug to the actor.
Forty-six-year-old Srikanth,who has acted in over 30 Tamil films, and a few Malayalam and Telugu films too, was taken into custody after the police recovered cocaine from his house and confirmed drug consumption through medical tests. The police said, they were probing the involvement of another Tamil film actor.
