The Bombay high court on August 25 allowed a petition filed by the producers of Ajey: The Untold Story Of A Yogi, and set aside the CBFC’s decision denying certification to the film, purportedly based on the life of Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath. The court directed the CBFC to issue the certificate, or challenge its order.
The Central Board of Film Certification on August 17 flagged certain scenes from the film to back its decision to deny certification. The film’s producers, Samrat Cinematics, approached the high court against the CBFC’s decision. After watching the film, the HC said on August 25 that it did not find any reason to uphold the CBFC’s denial of certification to the film.
