The team of upcoming Kannada film KD: The Devil has apologised to the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce for the “vulgar” lyrics and has assured that the lyrics will be revised. While the Kannada lyrics have been penned by Prem (who is the film’s director), the Hindi lyrics (Sarke chunar teri sarke) are by Raqueeb Alam. According to Alam, he has merely translated the Kannada song.
A meeting of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce was convened by president Jayamala to address the contentious issue. “We had summoned director Prem and the film’s producers (KVN Productions) to discuss as concerns about the song were widespread,” she said. KVN promised to alter the lyrics shortly. The song has already been taken down from the social media platforms.
Meanwhile, the controversy around Nora Fatehi has escalated, with lawyers reportedly writing to the ministry of home affairs, alleging misuse of her stay privileges. On the other hand, KFCC vice president K. Manju called the backlash against the actress “grossly unfair”, saying that Nora was only doing her job.
