Anisha Film International, PC Jeweller and BSR Film Productions’ Shree Baba Neeb Karori Maharaj (UA) is about the revered saint who taught people to treat all human beings with love and compassion. The film is about his principles and philosophy.
Sharad Singh Thakur’s story is based on true events in the life of Shree Baba Neeb Karori Maharaj. It is interesting but it has been written in a dull manner. Thakur’s screenplay is kiddish and rather than inspiring people, it keeps them unmoved. Kavita Raizada’s dialogues are routine.
Subodh Bhave acts quite effectively in the title role. Mohit Gupta is good as young Baba Mahara). Rajesh Sharma is just about okay in the role of Dada Mukherjee. Smita Tambe is alright as Kamala Mukherjee. Milind Gunaji lends ordinary support as the zamindar. Aniruddh Dave does an average job as Jeevan Dada. Hiten Tejwani passes muster as Raboo Dada. Samiksha Bhatnagar is alright as Siddhi Maa. Hemant Pandey (as Poornanand Tiwari), Varsha Manikchand Shrivastav (as Bhakti Maa), Aarti Nagpal (as Raboo Dada’s mother), Mahesh Shetty (as Bhuwan Mungali), Javed Hyder (as Riyasat), Gauri Shankar (as Gopal), Hardeep Kaur (as Chhoti Maa), Shyam Lal (as Vinod Joshi), Garima Agarwal (as Baba Maharaj’s stepmother), Pankaj Kashyap (as Puran da), Maya Jaiswal (as Rambeti), Nilesh Shevde (as Rambeti’s father), Lavanya Singh (as Rambeti’s sister), Shantanu Varma (as child Baba Maharaj), Avinash Wadhawan (as Tularam Sah), Kirti Adarkar (as Bhuwan Mungali’s mother), Elena Tuteja (as Girija), and Pankaj Vishnu provide dull support.
Sharad Singh Thakur’s direction is unimpressive. Music (Jai Uttal, Asif Ali Chandwani and Madhusudhan Singh Solanki) should’ve been better. Lyrics (Raghav Shukla) are average. Karthik Mallur’s cinematography is so-so. Akash Shivaji Mali’s art direction hardly deserves separate mention. Nilesh Navnath Gavand’s editing is loose.
On the whole, Shree Baba Neeb Karori Maharaj is a flop show.
