Newtech Media Entertainment, Radhika G. Films, Sunil Sihag Gora Films and A2R Films’ Aryabhatt Ka Zero (UA) is the story of hope, self-belief, perseverance and resilience.
Brahamgupta Shrivastava, also known as Baggu (Himansh Kohli), is not taken seriously by anyone. He is low on self-confidence too. As life throws unexpected challenges at him, he embarks on a journey of resilience, hope and self-discovery. From a zero, he becomes a hero.
Tariq Mohammad’s story does not offer much novelty as one has seen such zero-to-hero stories in other films too. Tariq Mohammad has penned a screenplay which is hardly engaging. The humour evokes laughter at times only. Emotions fail to touch the heart. Overall, the drama is not very entertaining or engaging. Tariq Mohammad’s dialogues are okay.
Himansh Kohli is alright as Baggu. Ravi Kishan performs well in the role of Chhannu bhaiyya. Sonali Seygal is fair as Rinku. Darshana Banik is okay as Bobby. Neeraj Sood makes his presence felt as Aryabhatt Srivastava. Alka Amin has her moments as Manju. Rajesh Sharma is adequate as Tyagiji. Shailja Sharma is passable as Chikoo. Ishlin Prasad provides routine support as Mini. Shilpa Shinde is okay as Simmi. Others pass muster.
Kamal Chandra’s direction is below the mark. Manan Bhardwaj’s music and lyrics are functional. Stanley D’Costa’s choreography is so-so. Abhijit Vaghani’s background music should’ve been more effective. Yogesh Jani’s camerawork is ordinary. Murlidhar J. Sabet and Ratan Suryawanshi’s production designing is ordinary. Sandeep Singh Bajeli’s editing leaves a lot to be desired.
On the whole, Aryabhatt Ka Zero is a non-starter.
