Tulsiram Production House’s Oye Chill Maar (A) is about four friends. Prem Thakur (Shrey Pareek), Guddu Dubey (Tejas Devrukhkar), Govardhan (Sujeet Asthana) and Vikas (Prashant Mohite) are fast friends and lead carefree lives. Prem loves Sumi (Prachi Bansal). However, Prem’s father, Dinesh Thakur (Atul Tiwari), has other plans for Prem. He wants Prem to marry Neha, daughter of Meenu Thakur (Meenu Sharma). When Prem and his friends go to meet Neha in Varanasi, there is chaos because even before they can reach Varanasi, they are robbed on the highway. Strangely, the highway robbers have a connection with Meenu Thakur. Anyway, in Meenu Thakur’s haveli, the four friends meet not just Neha but also Kajal (Sufia Tanweer) and Sneha (Shikha Pandey). There’s also a milkmaid. Kajal is a social media influencer who disappears on Holi day. What follows is the hunt for Kajal.
Arvind Yadav and Nitin M. Rokade have penned a dull story which tries to be contemporary. But it simply fails to impress. Too many tracks make the story go out of hand. Tanveer Durrani and Nitin M. Rokade’s screenplay is weak. The drama is so commonplace that nothing in it engages the viewers. The new faces playing the lead characters only add to the viewers’ tale of woes. Dialogues (Yash Eshwari, Abhishek Shashi Kumar, Tanveer Durrani and Nitin M. Rokade) are dull.
Shrey Pareek is ordinary as Prem Thakur. Tejas Devrukhkar is average as Guddu Dubey. Sujeet Asthana is so-so as Govardhan. Prashant Mohite passes muster as Vikas. Sufia Tanweer is ordinary in the role of Kajal. Prachi Bansal is dull as Sumi. Shikha Pandey is weak in the role of Sneha. The actress playing Neha is hardly passable. Atul Tiwari lends fair support. Meenu Sharma is so-so. The actress playing the milkmaid lends routine support. Nidhi Uttam plays the police inspector routinely. Pradeep Chandra is okay as Manish Johar. The actor playing Bablu is alright.
Nitin M. Rokade’s direction is terribly dull. His editing is loose. Aslam Keyi’s music and Yash Eshwari’s lyrics don’t really add much to the film. Imran Malgunkar’s choreography is rather bad. The background music (by Aslam Keyi) is pathetic. Farooque Khan’s camerawork is dull. Action and stunt scenes (by action director Robert John Fonseca) lack thrill. Sanjeev Rane’s art direction is ordinary.
On the whole, Oye Chill Maar is a dull fare.
