SWARA BHASKER COMPLAINS AGAINST HARASSMENT ON TWITTER | 13 July, 2019

Swara Bhasker drew the attention of the Bombay police in the midnight hours of 10th July while calling out a person harassing her on Twitter with abu­sive remarks and by referring to her as a “call girl” for supporting former JNU students’ union president Kanhaiya Kumar. The police swung into action forthwith and promised to investigate the matter. She was asked to file a written complaint.

The Versova (Bombay) police have re­gistered a case under IPC sections 500 (defamation), 507 (criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication), and section 67 of the Information Technology Act.
