Bengali film actor Swaroop Dutt passed away on 17th July in a private hospital in Calcutta. He was 78 and had been suffering from age-related diseases since long. He had a fall in his house on 13th July following which he was admitted to the hospital and was put on a ventilator. He is survived by his wife and a son. Among the Bengali films he had acted in were Anjaan Atithi, Aapam Jan, Pita-Putra and Harmonium. He was a very popular star in the 1960s and 1970s. He was also the hero in Hindi film Uphaar.
