As expected, Yash Raj Films’ War joined the Rs. 100-crore club on the third day of its release i.e. on Friday. The action thriller netted Rs. 53.35 crore on the first day which was a national holiday owing to Gandhi Jayanti. Collections dropped on the second day — which was not surprising as it was a working day — to Rs. 24.35 crore. The collection on Friday was Rs. 22.45 crore, taking the three-day total to Rs. 100.15 crore. Pertinent to note that War is the fifth Yash Raj Films (YRF) film to have joined the 100-crore club in three days only. The earlier four films with this distinction were Dhoom:3, Sultan, Tiger Zinda Hai and Thugs Of Hindostan.
The Hindi version alone collected Rs. 51.60 crore on Wednesday, Rs. 23.10 crore on Thursday, and Rs. 21.30 crore on Friday. The figures for the dubbed Tamil and Telugu versions were Rs. 1.75 crore on day 1, Rs. 1.25 crore on the second day, and Rs. 1.15 crore on the third day. In other words, the three-day total for the Hindi version was Rs. 96 crore while for the two dubbed versions was Rs. 4.15 crore.
If one were to consider the Hindi version only, it joined the Rs. 100-crore club on Saturday by collecting Rs. 27.60 crore.
