JUGALKISHORE RATHI BREATHES HIS LAST | 5 July, 2020

Veteran C.P. Berar distributor Jugalkishore Rathi passed away today (5th July) in Amravati. He was 83 and is survived by his wife, two sons, Anil and Harish, and two daughters, and their families. Kamalkishore Rathi is his nephew. Jugalkishore Rathi distributed around 300 films in his company, Vijayshree Pictures, in a career spanning 50 years. He was cremated this evening.

Besides being a distributor, Jugalkishore Rathi was also a social worker and had interests in other businesses. His father passed away when he was only three years old. He, therefore, started working at a very young age. As a child, he used to sell balloons and popcorn outside schools. He grew up to become a cloth merchant. Since he was fond of writing, he wrote around 80 books and more than 13,000 articles. In the Amravati trade, he was famous for his daily morning walks at 4 a.m., come what may. Rathi was a strict disciplinarian and led an extremely principled life. He provided free acupressure service to countless people. He was very friendly to Dara Singh who helped him a great deal in life.
