Actor Sahil Khan filed a police compÂlaint against three persons – two women and a man – for allegedly defaming him on social media. According to his compÂlaint, the accused, who belong to the film industry, posted his morphed pictures on their Instagram pages along with obsceÂne comments. The Goregaon (Bombay) police registered an FIR against the three Instagram account holders and charged them with defamation and sections of the Information Technology Act pertaining to transmitting and publishing obscene material on social media.
The police has booked the three under non-bailable sections (67 and 67A) of the IT Act, 2000 along with IPC sections 500 (defamation) and 34 (common intention).
