CHANGES IN SONU SOOD’S BUILDING FIRST SPOTTED BY BMC IN 2018 | 8 January, 2021

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) first spotted unauthorised additions and alterations in Shakti Sagar building, owned by Sonu Sood in the Juhu locality of Bombay, in 2018. The actor converted the residential building into a hotel in September 2018.

The BMC issued a stop-work notice after an inspection revealed unauthorised alterations and additions, BMC told Maharashtra Lok Ayukta in October last year. But as Sood submitted an application to regularise the changes, no action was taken by the BMC. Officials said, the proposal was approved in principle by then civic chief Praveen Pardeshi in February 2020, but the same was subject to a clearance from the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority.
