Journalist and writer Anil Dharker passed away today (26th March) in Bombay. He was 74 and had undergone bypass surgery of the heart yesterday (25th) in Bombay.
The suave and sophisticated Anil Dharker was the founder of the Mumbai International Literary Festival which is held in November every year. During his five-decade stint as a journalist, he wrote on films and many other topics. He was editor of several publications during his career. He was also a member of the advisory committee of the Central Board of Film Certification. He had produced TV shows and anchored some shows. he also headed a TV news channel.
