Zee chairman emeritus Subhash Chandra issued a statement recently that loans taken by him had been repaid and, therefore, the pledge over Dish TV shares would be released soon. Dish TV promoter and managing director Jawahar Goel had offered the company’s shares as security for credit facilities availed by his elder brother, Subhash Chandra. Due to this, there were rumours in the market that Jawahar Goel could lose grip over Dish TV on possible loan defaults by Subhash Chandra.
While thanking Jawahar for his support, Subhash Chandra said, he was fully committed to returning the Dish TV security to his younger brother. “Goel has no financial stress whatsoever in his personal capacity,” Subhash Chandra said.
