MYSORE DISTRIBUTOR GAURAV SHARMA DIES OF COVID-19 | 28 April, 2021

Mysore distributor Gaurav Sharma passed away today (28th April) in Bangalore of COVID-19. He was 42 years old. He is survived by his mother and brother, Saurav. Gaurav and Saurav’s company, Goldie Films, used to release films in Mysore circuit.

Gaurav, who had started out in Sony, started his own distribution concern and went on to distribute several films in Mysore circuit. He then handed over the distribution business to his brother, Saurav, and got into the business of organising fashion shows in different cities of the country. His fashion business, Storm Fashion, used to do very well. In recent times, Gaurav had started to take interest in the film distribution business again. In fact, he used to acquire the distribution rights of Kannada films and they used to be exploited by his brother. Gaurav was an extrremely lively and fun-loving person. There was a permanent smile plastered on his face, making him an endearing personality.

Gaurav (who was based in Chandigarh with his mother) had gone to Bangalore for work a few days back. To take care of their mother, Saurav had reached Chandigarh from Bangalore. As bad luck would have it, both the brothers tested positive for COVID-19 — Gaurav in Bangalore, and Saurav in Chandigarh. Hence Saurav will not be able to travel to Bangalore to claim Gaurav’s body or even attend his cremation.
