Kartik Aaryan has been shown the door once again. He is out of Red Chillies Entertainment’s Freddy, which was to be directed by Ajay Bahl (of B.A. Pass). The news of the Pyaar Ka Punchnama hero being shown the door comes close on the heels of the news of his ouster from Dharma Productions’ Dostana 2, co-starring Janhvi Kapoor. In Freddy, Kartik was paired opposite Katrina Kaif.
Incidentally, the main reason for Kartik being dropped from producer Shah Rukh Khan’s film is the same as Dharma Productions’ Dostana 2. This time too, Aaryan wanted the script changed — after having approved of it while signing the film. Luckily for Red Chillies, the film had not gone on the sets and hence there isn’t a lot of investment gone into the film, which would’ve otherwise gone down the drain. In the case of Dostana 2, Kartik had already shot for around 20 days.
In all fairness to Kartik, it must be said that after parting ways with the production house (Red Chillies Entertainment), the actor returned the Rs. 2 crore signing amount which he had received from it for acting in Freddy. The corporate house will now have to look for a new hero opposite Katrina.
Kartik had better pull up his socks. He is either surrounded by the wrong kind of people who may not be telling him where he’s going wrong or, alternatively, he may not be listening to anybody. Both are dangerous situations. After all, to be asked to leave two films of two top banners of the country, that too, in such close succession, is not advisable for any film actor, least of all for an actor who has made a mark for himself in several of the films he has so far acted in.
