U.P. CM ASSURES CINEMA OWNERS’ DELEGATION OF RELIEFS | 2 July, 2021

A delegation of cinema owners of Uttar Pradesh yesterday (July 1) met chief minister Yogi Adityanath and sought reliefs for the exhibition sector in the state, which they explained was in dire straits. The delegation, headed by exhibitor R.N. Sahu, submitted a representation to Adityanath who assured it reliefs by way of concession in electricity biils for the lockdown period and other help like relief in water tax during the lockdown. He also spoke of a yojana for the betterment of cinemas in the state. He hinted that after the malls, which had reopened, it was the turn of the cinemas to restart.

Besides R.N. Sahu (of Shubham Cinema, Lucknow), others present in the delegation of cinema owners were Ashutosh Agarwal (Starworld Cinemas), Kapil Khanna (Khilona Cinema, Jhansi), Ajay Gupta (Shyam Palace, Kanpur) and others. The delegation was under the umbrella of the U.P. Cine Exhibitors Federation (UPCEA).
