CBFC TO CONTINUE TO CERTIFY FILMS: I & B MINISTER | 24 July, 2021

There was no plan to create a new body or an independent agency for recalling films, and the Central Board of Film Certification would continue to certify films, the government said yesterday (23rd July) in response to questions on whether it was proposing to re-certify films that had already been certified and if it proposed to create a new body to recall films which were already certified. Union Information & Broadcasting minister Anurag Thakur assured the Parliament, “There is no proposal to create a new body.”
