Producer Ajay Yadav (Suspense, Sakshi and other films) was today (2nd August) arrested from Mathura in Uttar Pradesh for allegedly duping a Delhi businessman to the tune of Rs. 32 lakh on the pretext of getting him a loan of Rs. 65 crore. According to the police, Ajay Yadav had cheated several businessmen in a similar manner and was absconding since 2015. He was arrested by the special cell of the Delhi police and the Kandivali unit of the Bombay crime branch. As per the police, Yadav was arrested after raids in four states viz. Maharashtra, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
The complainant, Rahul Nath, runs his business in the name and style of Value Maker International Pvt. Ltd. from Okhla Industrial Area in Delhi. He told the police that he was in need of a loan of Rs. 65 crore to expand his business. He explained that Ajay Yadav represented himself as director in Serene Films, a reliable Bombay-based financial consultancy company. Yadav assured him that he would get a loan of Rs. 65 crore approved against his property, for 10 years on a 10 per cent per annum interest rate.
Nath further alleged that Yadav asked him to deposit Rs. 18 lakh for the services, which was transferred to the account of Yadav’s company. He alleged that after taking the money, Ajay Yadav switched off his mobile phone. The address given by him was also found to be fake. In this connecton, a case was registered against Ajay Yadav at the Mehrauli police station.
Ajay Yadav lived on rented addresses, duped people, using different names like Sanjay Aggarwal, Rakesh Sharma, Vikash Kumar, Guddu, Raman, Avinash and also changed several addresses, and mobile phone numbers on fake IDs, said the police. It may be added here that Ajay Yadav had also borrowed money from several industry people but he invariably defaulted in repaying the same and in paying interest thereon.
